Hands-down the BEST micro-flyer out there5
I’m by no means an expert, but I’ve flown my share of mini RC airplanes (4 or 5). I love the form factor of the small planes, the crash-proofness, and the general reliability. As a bunch they don’t have a lot of power, and can’t handle the wind well, at least as compared to the larger RC planes.

However, this little Aero Ace from Air Hogs shines in many areas over it’s peers. It’s more powerful (can even tack in fairly breezy winds), seems extremely reliable, and is about as indestructible as they come. This can’t be emphasized enough – RC planes crash constantly, no matter how good you are, but this one has survived hundreds of crashes — onto pavement, grass, the breach. Narry a scratch.

It also has a great battery charge time ratio – on full charge you can fly it for a good 15 minutes or more, and it seems to take about 20 minutes to charge. Like most small RC planes these days, you can charge it in the field using the built-in charger.

The biplane shape makes it stay in the air much longer – I’ve flown this thing for 5-10 minutes without it losing power nor falling to the ground.

One last thing is that it’s pretty customizable – there’s a great following online, with many web sites dedicated to modfications to the original design. I’ve clipped the lower wings to make it even faster and added wheels to allow it to take off and land on it’s own.

I’ve gotten them as presents for both my parents and a couple friends and everyone loves them.

Buy one! or two5
Both this and the single-wing model are great planes. We have one Aero Ace and three of the other (confusingly also called Aero Ace). They are essentially the same plane with different bodies. This plane is the less sturdy and very popular with the modder who do things like cut off the bottom wing (tried it, works fine); I also think it’s a lot of fun, enough so that I went to play with it by myself (so I wouldn’t have to share, and might look better for my kids later). Very practical for park flying, even when ramming trees. It is more maneuverable and less stable than the monoplane Aero Ace and neither does tricks, except by mistake (claim you meant to do it). I wish it recharged faster — 30 minutes can seem like an eternity. Also, a propeller broke when a kid flew the plane into a tree and applied power. I have yet to find a replacement and have not heard back from the company, irritating (I finally borrowed a prop from another plane).

For the price/performance — well, let’s say that a lot of people come up and ask about it, and today we saw a dad who bought one for his daughter the next day. I (er, we) have not had this much fun with a mass market toy in a long time.

Air Hogs Aero Ace bipe is great!5
The Aero Ace Bi Plane by Silverlit/Air Hogs is among the best RC “toys” you can buy.

They require a little bit of tuning to get flying perfect, but chances are you will be able to fly it well right out of the box.

Virtually indestructible and very easy to fly in calm winds.
Do a web search for Silverlit or Aero Ace and you will see how much this plane is loved by RC guys and get lots of tips on how you can tune it for great flight or alter it for fun.

I really can’t say enough good things about this plane, but I would just be duplicating the raves it gets everywhere.

Be sure you are buying a Silverlit, Air Hogs, Aero Ace brand, they are known to have good Li Poly batteries and electronics, other knock off brands will be disappointing
