Within 3 years, if more than 3 bright dots and/or 5 dark dots are found, ASUS will replace the panel under the warranty. A bright dot is a white defective dot that is over 1/2 of the whole sub-pixel under BLACK pattern. A dark dot is a black defective dot that is over 1/2 of the whole sub-pixel under any pattern. While I have used Asus MoBo's and video cards in the past, this is my first Asus monitor.
I replaced two 17" Samsung LCD's with this one 24". It is truly beautfiul. The color clarity and sharpness of the image are excellent. The HDMI port allows me to hook up a cable box to watch TV. The DVI port is connected to my PC.
I am very impressed with this ASUS VH242H monitor.

Well, I was shopping for a new monitor to upgrade my 15 inch lcd. After shopping around, I saw this monitor and instantly was intrigued. A 24 inch monitor for less than 200 dollars seemed a little cheap. But anyone who knows about computers can tell you that Asus is no small name. So I gave it a shot, and I don't regret it! This monitor looks great with computer games, it has all the computer inputs you need as well as HDMI! Hooking an Xbox 360 through this looks just as good as my 1080p 42" tv. Even my HDMI DVR box looks great with this monitor. The buttons feel a little cheap on this, but when do you ever use them? This monitor is a smart choice to save the most money and have the same quality as a $400 monitor. I get compliments about this monitor from people who paid way more for an HP or Dell monitor. If you are the least bit interested in this product, buy it!
After almost a year with this monitor, it still performs perfectly. The blue power light did burn out however and only lights up on occasion. Also, to clarify, sound does get output through the monitor when using hdmi with an xbox 360 or other device.

My 22" monitor blew and I hooked up an old 14", that's right, 14 INCH TV type monitor I had in my garage from 1995. (Something told me to not throw it away) Anyway, after a few days on that, my eyes were killing me. I started researching a new LCD. I enjoyed my 22" but figured if I could go a bit bigger, why not!
I am a single mom so my budget was not high. I did my research extensively and found this 23.6" beauty. With the free shipping offered at Amazon.com, it was the best deal I could find ANYWHERE. (And I looked in many stores and websites) All I can say is WOW!! The color is nice & the size is gigantic. My eyes thank me since there is no eye strain needed to view it. I am not technical so I can not get into the buttons and features as I do not use them. The monitor was super simple to hook up...even for me. Took me about 5 minutes to get it powered up. Watching a show on Hulu or a video on Youtube was like watching it on regular tv. Sweet!
If you are on the fence about purchasing this monitor, trust me when I tell you, you will not be disappointed. Hit the BUY button before they discontinue it as most models get replaced by new models. For the price, this is the WINNER!

I got this monitor some weeks ago for $189, and it's great... default color presets are not very satisfying, but after playing it for a while it works great, 1920x1080 is great to use programing IDEs, watch movies, gaming, etc... it's a excellent price/product deal

I purchased this ahead of a new PC build in June. I was looking at 19-22 inch monitors in both standard and letterbox framing. It came down to Acer and Asus. Asus won out with a slightly lower price for a 24 inch (actually 23.xx inch)monitor. Set up was easy and straightforward. The directions for set up were concise and clear. I absolutely love the unobtrusive but highly functional and easy to use monitor buttons on the front frame. Many monitors have the buttons on the under-side, side, or back and are difficult to operate. Asus has a winner here. The picture is clear and each of the screen setting choices performs very well. I use my monitor for; theatre, gaming, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, etc. and have really enjoyed the clarity and size. As for gaming it does a great job. I run MS Flight Simulator X and was skeptical about the cockpit displays considering the letterbox style but at the correct resolution it is just great. Warcraft is amazing. It is great to be able to run 2 seperate 8 x 11 screens on same monitor pretty much eliminating the need for 2 monitors; great for doing research and writing for school. Its nice to be able to have 3 spreadsheets up at the same time. I have had this for nearly 4 months and have no complaints about this solid performer.
