Great Unit, Great Price

Reviewer: Brian Slattery,
I would've purchased this from Amazon, but it was not available for delivery to my address, so I purchased it locally. This replaced my Vizio 42" plasma that I bought refurbished about 3 years ago, and is being used with a Yamaha home theatre receiver (the digital cable box, DVD, etc. are connected through it).

The picture quality in comparing the two is a world of difference. The plasma unit was good, but this LED unit is outstanding (aside from the bigger picture) - just a bright and vibrant as the plasma, but without the drawback of needing to have lower light levels in the room. The 240 Hz is definitely worth making sure you get, as there is no point in wasting money on 120 Hz or less. After looking around for the past month or so, it was a bit of a no-brainer to get this feature (requirement) on whatever new TV that I was going to get.

This is also my third Vizio unit, and I have to say that they have not disappointed me at all. As I said, the plasma was a refurb, but it has worked beautifully since I got it. I would definitely recommend Vizio to anyone looking for a new set.
Just stunning

Before purchasing this TV I purchased 2 Samsungs and 1 LG. Both of those were on sale at best buy for 999. The first two samsungs were the 120hz non LED and were nice TVs however both came out of the box with a dead pixel so they were returned. I previoulsy had a Samsung 32in and it had been great, so needless to say I lost a little faith in Samsung and I've been a long time Samsung fan. The LG I bought also had a dead pixel out of the box! (and overall I wasnt that impressed with the picture quality aside from that.)

I decided to get my money back and take a break, then I saw this TV on amazon. Aside from the horrible delivery service, this TV is great. The picture quality is stunning. The low profile and thin bezel really make this set even more attractive. The universal remote is nice for connectivity. The lack of internet did not affect me because I have an xbox 360 and I am soon buying a PS3. I picked this up for 1299 on amazon but even at 1450 its a great deal. However considering this set went up to the same price as the same set with internet, it would make sense to just get the one with internet I suppose. The LED backlighting creates a very vibrant picture and the color is just breath taking. SD programming is so so but I blame my cable box and comcast for the little quirks that are seen during SD programming. Another thing that drew me to this set is that it has a matte finish on the screen. The samsung was a semi-gloss and was rather reflective. Even in low lighting, during dark video games I could see myself. Not cool. The vizio reflects a little light but is a matte screen so it's a world of difference.

The only complaint I have is there seems to be very slight edge distortion (that is the very edge of the picture where you are never looking) on certain input types but again I dont blame the TV because when I put my Windows 7 PC on input there is not a flaw to be found. I've also been told vizio has great customer support and offer a year in home repairs on TV's this size. Vizio also offers a zero bright defective pixel gaurentee.

Sound is as good as any TV. I dont weigh this in usually because I use a surround sound receiver.
Awesome TV!!!

This TV is AMAZING!!! I had it up and running in less than 15 minutes. HD channels and Blu Ray movies look incredible. If anyone is in the market for an affordable TV with great technology and a nice, easy to use feature set, DO NOT hesitate to BUY THIS TV!!!!

Reviewer: Jason,
I went back and forth on so many TV's and I finally found this one and what a great choice. The price point was perfect and the craftmanship and quality are amazing. I am truly not a technical guy and this was an easy set up. The clarity and picture quality of the true motion is unbelievable. I highly recommend this TV and just know Vizio did a great job with the design and overall quality with this piece. Hope this helps!!
ONE GREAT LCD

To date, The best tv I have ever put money out for. And the first time I ever had one ordered on the net, as opposed to buying one in town some where. Straight out of the box, it was easy to hook up, easy to set up, and fast to start viewing. The best picture, color tone, best blacks, clarity, and definition, I have ever seen on any set that I have ever been able to view on any HDTV. And this one is LED Back-lit, 240 Hz, LED. I looked every where in town to find the best quality LED, and the biggest screen I could get for the amount of money I was willing to put out, in the area where I was going to put it. And I read and researched until I knew more than the sales people. For the money, this was by far the best purchase I have made in long time. [...]
